The Power of the Sub-conscious Mind in dealing with a disaster
By; Marc Lerner
In our society children are conditioned in school to develop their ability to think. That skill is incredibly valuable when they enter society and need to work.
That skill can also become an obstacle when you face a health crisis. If you develop habits where your awareness constantly stops on the level of thinking—you learn to ignore that beyond thought inner reality and you will be trapped in your conscious mind.
I believe this is an important skill, but it doesn’t have to eliminate your connection to your deepest inner wisdom; you can definitely have both. When we face a trauma like the disaster of Catrina, clear thinking and inner wisdom are both essential.
Sometimes a disaster like Catrina devastates the thinking mind. In some people that leaves them a victim and for some, that frees them from their past and connects them to their deepest inner wisdom.
The way our subconscious mind is conditioned determines how you face that challenge. Your self image and how you trust yourself defines how you meet a challenge.
Your subconscious mind has been conditioned since you were a small child and it may seem impossible to change that. One benefit of a disaster is it can destroy reliance on past conditioning…but that is actually a gift.
When ever we face a disaster we were never prepared for; relying on the Wisdom of the Body is a wise response. Some people instead of going beyond thinking just focus on their thoughts and past conditioning and that is how they get depressed.
When you drive a car and all you do is look in the rear-view mirror, you would probably get into a wreck.
Focusing on thoughts and past conditioning is how you get messed up when you are in a health crisis. When you are in a situation like that; you need to go beyond thoughts and conditioning and that is where you find the Wisdom of the Body.
Now if that disaster destroys your reliance on your mind; that is the best time to create new conscious habits. We let go of the programming that doesn’t serve us in a disaster and with the intense demands on us we need to connect to our deepest inner wisdom.
Now Catrina was an example of an outrageous disaster, but in our life we may face disasters we were never prepared to deal with. Being diagnosed with a chronic illness may cause a disaster and though our conscious mind can adapt to deal with it, we still need the Wisdom of our Body.
Are you ready to deal with disasters in your life from the Wisdom of your Body? If not, what is stopping you from developing the habits that make that possible?
