The word "believe” has the root to "allow" Perhaps it's no coincidence that when we believe in our doctor or a medical treatment, our minds allow it to work.
When we believe in our self we allow our inner resources to work. We become an active participant in healing and a new diagnosis will never be received with a victim mentality.
A new diagnosis requires you to trust and believe in your inner resources as well as the doctor and your treatments. For when inner and outer resources work together a powerful partnership manifests.
The Nobel Prize-winning Belgian biochemist Ilya Prigogine wrote, in his Theory of Dissipative Structures, that living systems have the capacity to do something remarkable when faced with acute disturbance: to reorder themselves into new, more complex systems.
I live by the premise that each of us carries within a similar capacity for self-transformation. Illness may burden us with life changes, but these may also catalyze tremendous opportunities for growth which can improve your health – but more importantly, can improve the quality of your life.
Working with severely ill patients, I have found again and again that this radical re-invention hinges upon the attitude of the individual. The patient's mind-set is the single greatest factor in whether or not he or she makes this breakthrough.
So when you deal with a health crisis, use the power of what you believe in. If you believe your doubts and fears, you allow them to manifest. Believe in your inner wisdom and allow that part of you to manifest and the results of your healing efforts will serve you.
If you have ever changed your mind... you can change your focus and change the way you deal with a new challenge.
The Life Skills Approach helps you condition your subconscious mind in harmony with your deepest inner wisdom. That develops a program you can believe in so you can actively participate in healing. www.lifeskillsinc.com is a resource you can believe in.
