When the doctor and the patient have the same goal, it is easy to see they have to become partners in healing. That partnership has the ability to combine the resources of the medical community with powerful inner resources found in the Wisdom of the Body.
Doctors go to Medical school to learn their role, but the patient learns how to become active in healing through their family and usually very indirectly.
The patient’s role allows them to receive the treatments & use them with the Wisdom of the Body. Otherwise their mind has the ability to limit the treatments effectiveness.
Within every person there is the Wisdom of the Body; unfortunately we are taught how to ignore that and focus on our thoughts and past conditioning. When we are in a health crisis we need that inner wisdom to heal, but our own mind blocks us from that connection.
Medical professionals are trusted more than our minds, so when we are in a health crisis it is easy for us to yield to proven science and become passively involved. I want to propose something different.
Science is definitely a wonderful support to those in a health crisis, but even the best of science requires the Wisdom of the Body to heal. Your inner wisdom responds to the medical treatments and actually does the real healing work.
If you are in a positive state of mind, with the attitude of being prepared to heal; you will respond better to the medical intervention. We need external resources like medication and surgery…but remember it is your body that heals.
Becoming active in that state of mind is something only you have control over and as a good partner; you need to take that responsibility seriously.
How you receive your medical treatment is really the patients responsibility, but the medical professional definitely needs to support that.
Is there a partnership in your healing process?
