Society doesn’t prepare us to be sick, so we may never learn how to effectively heal. We learn skills that prepare us for what we will do in society, but to tap the Wisdom of our Body to heal is often left to the day where we get sick.
Our self-image is the key to that inner wisdom and when we learn how to control that part of us; we have a direct contact to this powerful inner resource.
Learn how to control who you think you are & discover your inner strength. This is in your control and is valuable in healing.
How a medical professional relates to their patient has significant effects on how they will relate to their health crisis. Even if their attitude is poor, professionals can be a corrective agent just by the way they interact with them.
Each of us has within a positive and a negative self image. Professionals can help change the self image of a patient by focusing & supporting their positive self. When a patient adjusts to whom you direct yourself to; they begin looking through the perspective of a new self image.
I have dealt with AIDS patients who named their negative self “Loser” and their positive self “Survivor”. When they went through difficult times, when they identified with “Loser” their responses to their struggle was damaged and they suffered more.
When I helped that person go through that same struggle from “Survivor”; they still had to struggle, but they interpreted it differently. What interprets our struggle makes a difference and we all have control over that.
You may or may not have total control over your illness, but you do have control over how you interpret the challenges you face.
Now if the patient & doctor are in a serious partnership, your perspective is an important element in making the treatments successful. It is really both of your responsibility as partners to make sure that happens.
I encourage you to have totally honest communications and make sure you ask questions of your partner when you are not clear. Frank questions can draw your partner into the healing process, but be sure that you communicate to their positive self.
As a medical professional, are you really concerned in how your patient receives what you say? Your treatments are as effective as they are received. Help your patients receive your treatments better.
