When I talk to people who have a chronic illness or a disability they often tell me what is difficult. How they are dealing with their medication, what is going wrong and the challenges they are not successful at and that is important to get out.
But the most important thing is how you are going to deal with those struggles.
We can not always control our body; even though I attempt to do that all of the time. What I do have control over is the attitude I approach those goals with.
Every health challenge is full of ups and downs. With my illness those ups and downs can be because I often fall. What ever our struggle is, failure is not uncommon in healing. In fact failure is a natural part of healing. Now how you deal with those failures determines how your mind is going to be harmonious with the part of you that heals.
Mental disharmony basically is how your mind creates unnecessary suffering. When you are in harmony with the Wisdom of your Body; when your body doesn’t heal as fast as you want it to-you don’t beat yourself up over that.
The quality of your life when you are doing nothing important is one of the most valuable things you can do to heal. Society puts importance on what you do and it is totally easy to focus on that. In healing the focus the deals with the quality of your life when you are doing nothing is very important.
In that silence is the Wisdom of your Body and when you have a conscious relationship with that; that helps you heal. To the ego that silence has little value. To your health that silence contains the mechanism that heals your body.
Your awareness gives life to that part of you and when you accept that silence; awareness has an easy time connecting to the Wisdom of the Body. If your awareness is caught up in thoughts about yourself and your health challenge; the Wisdom of your Body too often gets ignored. Develop a conscious relationship with inner wisdom and you naturally serve the Healing Process.
