When we fall it is totally natural to grab our scraped knee; but why do we focus on what is wrong with us the rest of the time? There is a benefit on focusing on what is wrong, for that gives in-put to the brain for corrections to happen. I have had MS actively for 27 years so there comes a time where it becomes useless to keep telling the brain to correct; I just need to live a quality life!
The purpose of becoming conscious in a healing crisis is to create an inner healing environment. When that is developed the quality of your life is not limited by what is wrong with you; you go beyond focusing on thinking and connect to the Wisdom of the Body. That is an amazing resource that seldom gets developed unless we are forced to and a health crisis can force that quality growth.
Too often when we face a health crisis we are permitted to focus on thinking out of pity, but we loose a great opportunity to grow. In times like that the body naturally transcends the habitual habit of focusing on thoughts and connects to the Wisdom of the Body. If we could take advantage of that; we could play an active role in healing as we found quality in our life. .
There is nothing in life more valuable as finding quality in the moment. In a health crisis or any other situation, we have to be true to ourselves and totally be conscious in the moment. That is how I define quality and change my focus.
I work with people in a chronic illness or disability, helping them to find quality and by doing so they actively get involved in healing.
