The way we respond to a trauma depends on how we interpret them. Too often instead of consciously dealing with negative traumatic events; we bury them in our body. That unresolved tention can result in pain and discomfort when ever it gets triggered. For instance say you had a negative experience with a parent. Maybe they judged you and caused you harm. As a child you were not able to consciously resolve that so you buried it your stomach.
As an adult you may find when ever you get judged by someone, it triggered the unresolved tention in your stomach. As an adult you do not have to interpret that trauma from the same perspective you did as a child, but subconsciously you do.
Here is what I do with the people I work with having similar problems;
· First I have them focus on the tention in their body. Then I ask them to remember when they learned it, since they weren’t born with it they must have developed in their life.
· After relaxing and trusting the Wisdom of their Body, those memories emerge.
· Then I have them interpret that same event from a more mature conscious place. When a more conscious interpretation is developed I asked them to give that conscious interpretation a nickname.
· When ever they find themselves in a similar situation, that nickname can automatically create a conscious interpretation of that event without triggering their old program.
