When ever we get sick or deal with any health crisis, we focus on the discomfort. It is as though we were a child and skinned our knee, immediately we place our hand on it and we can’t help but focusing on it. We do the same thing as adults and though it may not be our knee…it could be the stock market, a divorce or any challenge that demands our attention. The truth is if we focus on the thoughts of our calamity, we ignore the inner resources needed to consciously deal with it.
Beyond our thinking mind we find the Wisdom of the Body. This is the home of powerful inner resources needed to deal with calamities. Unfortunately when we grasp our scraped knee, our total attention goes there. It takes self-trust to let go of our scrapes and receive inner resources to deal with that challenge, but we have been conditioned to grasp our knee and grasp unpleasant thoughts as though that is going to help us deal with it.
When we let go and trust ourselves, we relax and activate the Wisdom of the Body. Creativity happens, inner resources are activated and we deal with that challenge from a different consciousness. In healing that allows the body to heal without self imposed anxiety. In our everyday challenges, that allows for creative solutions to bubble up without creating anxious thinking.
In healing the quality of one’s life empowers the will to live and healing gets activated. Our heart becomes alive in the moment and the purpose of our actions become clear. In Latin the word “worry” comes from “to choke”. When we worry; our focus and our breath stops on thinking. Our breath is cut short and we choke. Without a complete breath we also ignore powerful inner resources found beyond our thinking mind and the quality of our life is limited.
Isn’t it amazing what a shift in focus can do?
